Experimental Analyst (Intel Planner)

Position:
Experimental Analyst (Intel Planner) with Security Clearance (TS/SCI).

Location:

Mac Dill AFB, Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities
  • Employ a range of experimentation tools to support industry-standard and trade space studies evaluating warfighter capabilities, differing solution designs, program recommendations, and overall capability performance.
  • Support the development, coordination, planning, and execution of EXFOR experimentation efforts and events including modeling, simulations, tabletop exercises, war games, red team analysis, prototyping, and demonstrations to validate feasibility, reliability, and resilience of experiments for enhancing Special Operations capabilities.
  • Assess the utility and application of different or developing commercially or government‑owned analytical tool sets.
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise and guidance on cutting‑edge technologies while functioning as an expert in leveraging SOF research and technology developments.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with SOF AT&L, Science & Technology (S&T), DARPA, and other DoD, Joint, Military Service and SOF component S&T organizations.
  • Report findings and results from every experiment event executed on behalf of the client, capture lessons learned, and incorporate them into future event scenarios and practices.
  • Assemble, train, and lead experiment events by supporting scenario development and scenario scripting for the desired event.
  • Plan, design, develop, and lead experiment events from concept through post‑execution review.
  • Create briefs for approval, progress updates, and scenario implementation.
  • Provide analytical support to plan, prepare, rehearse, conduct, and assess senior leader seminars and SOF experiment events, including exercises, tabletop exercises, and interoperability workshops/conferences.
  • Develop plans of action and milestone schedules.
  • Research and prepare staff products, scenario development, moderator guides, and reference materials.
  • Evaluate DOTmLPF‑P to develop alternative solutions that may inform senior leaders on force changes, resourcing, and capability gaps.
  • Attend planning conferences and workshops with stakeholders to discuss event planning, scenario development, and scripting.
  • Participate in experimentation‑related forums, working groups, and external assemblies (e.g., conferences, technology shows).
  • Support development of USSOCOM products, including guidance and directives (SOF Operating Guidance, Force Planning Guidance, etc.).
  • Conduct strategic outreach and engagement efforts regarding SOF Experimentation, Force Development, and Design to internal and external audiences.
  • Travel up to 25 % of the time monthly.
  • Prepare reports, information papers, and presentations as required using Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access).
  • Develop and maintain an electronic resource with key points of contact to support mission continuity.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution.
  • 3 years of strategic/operational level experience (military, contract, or civilian) working with DoD services, combatant commands, and supporting strategic engagement programs.
  • 3 years of experience in planning, concept development, analysis of alternatives, scenario‑based development and execution, modeling and simulations, experimentation, design theory, and/or analytical methodologies.
  • 3 years of experience in USSOCOM‑assigned organizations as military, government civilian, or contractor.
  • 3 years of experience planning large‑scale (>30 individuals) events for senior leadership.
  • 3 years of experience conducting defense‑related research on emerging technologies or integrating intelligence and operations to develop scenarios and studies.
  • 3 years of experience creating operational products to identify exercise results and lessons learned.
  • 3 years of experience developing and presenting verbal and written products at the general/flag‑level command staff.
  • 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel).
