Job DescriptionThis faculty position offers an opportunity to develop research and teaching careers in areas including Computational Supersonic and Hypersonic Flows, AI, Autonomy, and Robotics, Drones and Urban Air Mobility, Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace Materials, and Energy Systems. Applicants are encouraged to emphasize expertise in these areas; materials‑science candidates without a clear aerospace connection are discouraged.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical and aerospace engineering.
- Develop and maintain a competitive, externally funded research program.
- Mentor undergraduate, graduate, and graduate‑student research.
- Contribute to departmental service and curriculum development.
- Engage in scholarly activities that advance the field of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
- Minimum: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Preferred: Demonstrated excellence in research with a record of publications, potential for sustained external funding, and strong teaching and mentoring experience.
- High potential for national or international recognition in mechanical and aerospace engineering.
- Cover letter indicating desired rank and research area.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Names of at least four professional references.
- Statement (≤5 pages) of research plans, teaching interests, and broader impacts.
