Sales Engineer

As an Estimator, you will turn plans and specifications into accurate, competitive bids that win work and fuel the company’s expansion across the Southeast.
What You’ll Do- Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and fixture schedules to create precise bills of material for commercial and industrial lighting projects.
- Produce itemized quote packages and deliver them at least 24 hours before bid deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with contractors, manufacturers, and the outside sales team to ensure pricing aligns with market conditions and project goals.
- Track addenda and design changes, updating estimates quickly to keep bids accurate and timely.
- Stay current on emerging lighting controls, energy-efficient technologies, and IoT devices to recommend value-engineered alternatives.
- Participate in product trainings, share new ideas, and champion continuous process improvements that strengthen the estimating department.
- Assist with submittal package review and other project-support tasks as needed.
- 2–4 years of experience preparing lighting or electrical estimates/quotations for commercial projects.
- Working knowledge of LED luminaires, lighting controls, and connected (IoT) devices.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and one-line diagrams.
- Strong math skills and advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and web-based research; familiarity with quote/ERP platforms a plus.
- Proven capacity to manage multiple bids simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and exercise sound independent judgment.
