Mechanical Engineer/Designer

Located in Tampa, FL (Onsite). This is not a remote or hybrid position.

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of electro‑mechanical equipment. Potential hire will be working directly with the design team and manufacturing vendor. Candidate will design, troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve challenges related to product development. This includes root cause analysis, working with suppliers and in‑house support personnel, and design improvements from concept to production. Candidate will also be responsible for maintaining, updating drawings and Bills of Material and offer test support.

This position is onsite at our Springfield, VA office.

• Design systems and integrate the multiple systems using Solid Works from initial concept stage through production launch.
• Generate and provide analysis of FEA studies in Solidworks.
• Generate and analyze drawings from parts/assemblies IAW ASME 14.100 and MIL‑STD‑31000.
• Assist in production problem solving by interfacing with the manufacturing team to find creative solutions.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members and represent the company with customers and suppliers.

• Education:
  
  4-year Mechanical Engineering degree with 5+ years of hands‑on experience. OR
• Education:
  
  2-year technical college degree/military experience with 10+ years of mechanical and design/drawing experience.

• Experience designing mechanical systems and power generation and distribution systems.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), problem solving, technical documentation/communication.
• Solid Works and 2D CAD and mechanical design experience are mandatory for this position everything else is negotiable.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving abilities.
• Must be eligible to receive U.S. Security Clearance
• Must have ability and some flexibility to travel domestically and internationally - up to 20%
