Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Environmental Compliance Manager to lead our Florida Environmental Compliance Department. This role focuses on department growth, staff development, and expanding our project portfolio. Projects include environmental compliance services for residential, commercial, utility, and transportation developments.

Job Duties Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage department operations, including:
  • NPDES stormwater compliance inspections and reporting
  • SWPPP development and auditing
  • Coordination with federal and state agencies on wetlands, erosion, sediment control, and stormwater compliance
  • Manage project scheduling, budgeting, and billing
  • Prepare proposals, including scope, fees, and RFP responses
  • Provide internal training, mentoring, and implement standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with other WSSI and Davey departments as needed
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in NPDES compliance inspections and reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of Florida’s NPDES Stormwater Program and Construction General Permit requirements
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills
  • Proven business development and networking ability
  • Effective leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with diverse public and private clients
  • Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally out of state, including weekends or holidays
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of NPDES compliance experience
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector Certification or equivalent
  • Experience in environmental due diligence, including wetland delineation, habitat assessments, permitting, and wildlife surveys
