Job DescriptionThis is a strategic leadership position to serve as a Discipline Leader (DL) for wastewater projects in our Water Reclamation Community of Practice. In this position you will provide technical and quality oversight to wastewater treatment design projects and teams of subject matter experts (SMEs) throughout the U.S., collaborating with civil engineering, modeling, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, mechanical engineering and other SMEs to support the design of wastewater treatment projects.
Additionally, you will work with Practice Leaders (PLs), other Discipline Leaders and engineering and construction leaders across the organization and will be empowered to deliver innovative solutions while interacting effectively with clients, company management, administrators, project engineers, and vendors.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms and coordinates with designated SMEs for quality checking of designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
Provides guidance and coordinates with SMEs on the delivery of wastewater treatment projects. This includes coordination with regional team leaders (RTLs) on project staffing needs.
Collaborates with the Water Reclamation Practice Leader and sales staff to support proposals in response to requests for Proposals (RFPs). Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations, and best practices. Meets with current and potential future clients as needed to review their current and future design needs.
Attends and presents at conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the technical visibility and reputation of the firm's products and services in collaboration with PLs, DLs, and sales staff.
Provides technical guidance and training to senior, mid-level and junior staff as needed. Mentors staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm. Supervises the work of engineers on project work and delegates as necessary to SMEs.
Alternative delivery experience such as progressive design build is a plus.
Professional Engineer
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- 15 years of related experience (or equivalent directly related experience in lieu of a degree).
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
