Develop, implement and administer an industry best practice approach to achieving the highest level of performance from Electric Delivery Distribution assets for every valuable capital and operating dollar spent. Facilitate system root cause analysis, tracking and analyzing Distribution, Substation and Transmission reliability metrics for Electric Delivery.
* Engineer classification is multi-level, based on the qualification guidelines as outlined in the Company's Engineering Career Path, Administrative Policy 2.13. A minimum classification of an Engineer II is required in this position.
- Development and implementation of the distribution portion of the Electric Delivery Asset Management Plan which includes design/equipment specification review; health, criticality, and risk assessments; inspection, monitoring, and testing strategies; performance, and maintenance requirements. 20%
- Development and implementation of the distribution portion of a comprehensive Electric Delivery Reliability Improvement Plan using empirical data to predict reliability improvements. 20%
- Supervise the tracking, analysis and reporting of reliability metrics for all asset classes. Lead all efforts for continuous improvement of such tracking and analysis. Provide planning, feedback and skill building to Reliability team members. Administer the Performance Review (PR) and Individual Development Plan (IDP) process. 20%
- Facilitation of system root cause analysis for all asset classes. Facilitation and tracking of resulting action plans to improve system performance. 20%
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive data collection and predictive modeling tool for distribution assets that assists in the prioritization of capital expenditure and complements the Asset Management and Reliability Improvement Plans. 10%
- Maintain measurement of the distribution asset portfolio performance to ensure achievement of organization vision and goals through performance benchmarking. 10%
A combined maximum of one year of work experience credit may be granted for co‑op work experience, an advanced degree, and/or a PE license.
Works under close supervision; receives specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected; performs a variety of routine tasks which should provide experience and familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, practices, procedures and programs of the Company; usually assumes no responsibility for direction of others.
Education- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
- Engineer II level: Minimum 4 years of experience as an engineer performing work related to these duties and responsibilities; eligibility to become a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida. Approval by the business unit Vice President is required.
- Senior Engineer level: Minimum 8 years of experience as an engineer performing work related to these duties; eligibility to become a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
- Principal Engineer level: Minimum 12 years of experience as an engineer performing work related to these duties and responsibilities.
- Additional experience details:
Minimum 18 months of experience as an engineer performing related duties including PLS‑CADD and AutoCAD experience, understanding of engineering, construction, and operation of transmission systems; 12 months of related experience with passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam for lower levels. - Minimum of 3‑4 years of work experience related to the duties and responsibilities for mid‑levels; eight years of transmission related experience for principal level.
- Required: Professional Engineer license in the State of Florida.
- Preferred: Membership and participation in technical or professional organizations is expected.
- Required: Must have demonstrated above expected performance as a Senior Engineer, with demonstrated technical proficiency in transmission line design, construction and operation, including foundation design and remediation, Electric and Magnetic Field (EMF) or transmission line rating methodologies.
