- Originate and lead the underwriting and execution of flexible capital‑solution investments—including private credit and structured equity—in U.S. businesses with $5–$50 million EBITDA.
- Negotiate definitive credit and equity documentation.
- Add value to Star Mountain’s overall business by acting as an aligned partner in building a leading private investment platform.
- Maintain and broaden relationships with deal‑flow origins, prospective limited partners, and third‑party due‑diligence providers.
- Analyze and execute secondary purchases of credit and equity portfolios in U.S. LMM funds.
- On‑go, actively monitor portfolio companies, anticipate and document credit events, and creatively identify and implement value‑added activities to support portfolio needs.
- Assist with junior‑team recruiting, training, and development.
- 12+ years of experience in cash‑flow lending or investing in U.S. companies with $5–$50 million EBITDA.
- Broad experience originating and leading leveraged‑finance transactions across industries.
- Strong quantitative aptitude and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to take on material responsibility for transaction underwriting, asset management, and credit outcomes.
- Experience negotiating loan agreements and equity documentation.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong people skills.
- Willingness to travel nationwide for origination, due‑diligence, portfolio board meetings, and investor relations.
- Immediate availability.
- Ideal candidates located in the Southeast/Southwest.
The salary will be based on qualifications, experience, and performance. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and other economics. The firm’s 100 % employee ownership structure provides material wealth‑creation opportunity.
