Position: STAFF ACCOUNTANT I
TCM Bank is in Tampa, FL. This is a remote opportunity. If living outside of the area, travel expectations would be at least 4 times (overnight travel) per year. Qualified candidates located in the states where we do business will be considered: AL, AZ, DC, FL, GA, IA, KY, MA, MI, MD, MO, MN, NE, NC, OH, OR, PA, SC, TX, & VA.

SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant I is responsible for accounting processes which include supporting core financial operations, preparing general ledger reconciliations, credit balance refund processing, research request management and ticket submissions, and performing other special projects as assigned. Is cross-trained and provides backup to other positions within the Accounting & Finance Department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for supporting core financial operations that may include processing payments, managing employee expenses, and assisting with payroll-related activities.

Prepares account reconciliations and general ledger entries using core processor reports and other supporting documentation as necessary.

Processes credit balance refunds and secured card deposit returns and research related inquiries.

Review of positive pay exception items.

Communicates proactively with other departments regarding reporting out of balances, transactions needing review.

Submits tickets for research requests with consistent follow-up through resolution.

Reviews aging of transactions in assigned GLs and proactively communicates concerns to management as needed.

Prepares additional GL reconciliations as assigned.

Supports other financial activities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years' work experience in a financial accounting environment with general ledger experience.
• Proficiency in Excel required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
