Corporate Controller

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Controller in Tampa, FL (Hybrid) for a commercial real estate company with an in-house property management company. The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data across operations. 75k-105k annual salary

• Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Expert knowledge of Rent Manager and Quickbooks required—including GL, AR/AP, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting.
• Lead role in preparation of annual budgets that align with Business Plan objectives.
• Support leadership with financial modeling, profitability analysis, and cost‑control initiatives.
• Establish, document, and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including sales tax, quarterly tax payments, property tax, and payroll filings.
• Oversee inventory valuation and standard cost accuracy within the ERP system.
• Cash Management & Treasury
• Monitor daily cash position, banking relationships, and credit facilities.
• Ensure timely receipt of deposits from customer payment sources (e.g., credit card processing banks, customer financed transactions, etc.)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA/MBA strongly preferred).

5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Experience with complex real estate transactions preferred.

Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
