Associate Director, Accounting

Overview

One of Tampa Bay's largest Healthcare companies is seeking an Associate Director of Accounting to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess at least 10 Years of progressive accounting / finance experience in either a large healthcare organization or multi national companies.

Only local candidates or candidates relocating to Tampa Bay will be considered.

HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED

• Responsible for ensuring all material transactions are fully and correctly accounted for in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. It must ensure timely closure of financial books to enable a timely and quality reporting to its parent company. The role is also responsible for understanding and accounting any differences between internal/group and statutory/legal reporting, aiming for minimal difference as much as it is possible.
• Primary Responsibilities:
• In the review and analysis of accounts or of the business in various forms that will ensure complete and correct accounting of material transactions
• Implementation of controls on financial reporting, ensuring transactions are carried out in adherence to the SOX controls and supporting SOX Controls testing.
• On timely month-end closing and accurate financial reporting
• On keeping track of statutory / legal reporting requirements and defining tactics to ensure company compliance
• Supporting internal and external audit
• Promote implementation of controls in recording, accounting and validation of fixed assets and inventory
• Reporting on ageing of Accounts Receivable, collections and calculation of provisions.
• Record data on leased assets in the parent company mandated lease accounting tool (Lease Enabler)
• Collaborate with corporate accounting and load data to the Hyperion 2.0 platform. Carry out inter-company reconciliations and facilitate payment of inter-co dues.
• Maintain the hierarchy in AS400 and work with IT / Analytics / Marketing to ensure that the center master data is updated
• Serve as process and control owners of all Accounting-related processes, continuously challenging processes to define more efficient ways of doing things without sacrificing controls
• Collaborate with FP&A Team especially during month-end close, supporting month-end performance analysis
• Continuous collaboration with the field for better/up to date understanding of the business
• Support company programs that will help improve its financial position
• Provide necessary information to leadership team to support decision making process
• Mentor and development of staff

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance

· Recognized finance qualifications (CPA preferred)

· At least 10 years of broad experience in accounting operations in the healthcare industry (preferred) or any multinational companies.

At least 4 years in a Managerial position.

• Excellent Analytical Skills, Hands on knowledge of Accounting/Finance processes and controls
• Extensive knowledge on SOX controls
• Exposure in an organization with integrated ERP Systems

• Strong Communication Skills – verbal and written
• Able to interact and build relationship across functions and with different levels of the organization
• Positive attitude on changes
• In depth knowledge of AS400 and Showcase Query or its equivalent (optional)
