The Budget Analyst at the Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County works closely with program managers and senior leaders to develop and manage the department's operating budget. This position analyzes detailed budgets and financial reports, prepares budget reports, monitors cash balances, and assists with fiscal operations using the Florida Department of Health Financial and Information Reporting System (FIRS). The role requires independent judgment and limited supervision to support organizational operations and grant spending management.
Keyqualifications:
- 2 years' experience reviewing and analyzing budget for a local health department
- 2 years' experience creating budget or financial reports for leadership and management review
- 2 years' experience working with budget managers to monitor grant spending
- Experience working with the Florida Department of Health Financial and Information Reporting System (FIRS)
- Proficient in Excel spreadsheets and reports
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and procedures
