The SVP/Chief Financial Officer serves as the Credit Union’s primary financial strategist. The CFO is challenged with balancing profitability with a member and associate focused mindset and delivering ongoing innovative and data-driven insights of our financial position. This key executive role oversees all financial risk assessments and internal controls that safeguard long term financial security. Plans, directs, and controls the organization’s overall financial plans, policies, and accounting practices.

Uses accuracy while placing priority on deadlines. Subject matter expert in complying with industry, accounting, and Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union regulations, policies, reporting requirements and procedures. Actively participate in initiatives within the credit union and community that align with our Mission, Vision, Core Values. Serves as a positive role model and displays servant leadership daily as a member of the Executive Team.

  • Oversee budget planning, preparation and administration processes to control operating expenses and achieve the credit union's strategic objectives.
  • Monitors interest rate, credit and portfolio risk status and sets limitations as required for Asset/Liability Management. Identify ways to reduce interest rate risk and sensitivity.
  • Updates the ALM policy in accordance with the NCUA rules and regulations.
  • Oversees, evaluates and interprets statistical and financial reporting on the status of the credit union providing management and the Board of Directors information useful for superior decision making.
  • Provide detailed ALCO and Investment reports to Board and Executive Management.
  • Communicates with the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Committee, and executive management regarding strategic recommendations, financial results and policies which affect the organization to ensure that they are timely, accurately and adequately informed.
  • Approachable leader for the credit union on all things related to finance, accounting, budgeting, audits, taxes, insurance, and risk management.
  • Manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the credit union.
  • Leverages emerging technologies to automate transactional tasks, increasing team bandwidth to focus on more high-yielding initiatives.
  • Willing to mentor and advance the technical and professional skills of direct reports in Finance and Compliance throughout their career.
  • Manages and optimizes the investment and borrowing portfolios of the credit union in order to achieve above average earnings and safeguard the assets for the members.
  • Represents the credit union on financial matters with industry, governmental, and regulatory organizations.
  • Serves as the Credit Union’s liaison with NCUA examiners and independent auditor to ensure they receive the necessary information to perform their reviews.
  • Oversees all required regulatory reporting to assure compliance in the most cost-effective manner and minimize legal liabilities.
  • Serves on several committees such as Finance Committee and Asset-Liability Committee.
  • Monitors product utilization and feedback regarding services to accurately evaluate and recommend new product and business lines which provide customers valuable services while enhancing the stability and financial results of the company.
  • 5 plus years of CFO experience with a similarly sized organization. Preference will be given to applicants who have applicable experience in the credit union or banking industry.
  • Proven expertise in developing Board-approved investment policies and multi-year financial forecasting.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with the Profit star system for budgeting and projections.
  • Senior financial leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required
