DescriptionThe Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection & Personnel Recovery Analyst supports MARCENT by analyzing, assessing, and recommending protective measures to mitigate risks to forces across the USCENTCOM AOR. This role develops and reviews AT/FP policies and plans, supports personnel recovery readiness assessments, and analyzes security threats to recommend proactive protective measures. The analyst integrates AT/FP considerations into contingency and operational planning, and prepares protective assessments and incident response products to enhance MARCENT force protection posture.
With 5–7 years of operational planning experience and knowledge of DoD AT/FP policies and personnel recovery doctrine, the analyst ensures MARCENT is prepared to mitigate risks and conduct recovery operations under hostile conditions. By combining risk analysis with protective planning, the AT/FP & Personnel Recovery Analyst strengthens MARCENT’s ability to safeguard personnel and sustain mission readiness.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Develop and review anti-terrorism and force protection policies and plans.
- Support personnel recovery readiness assessments.
- Analyze security threats and recommend proactive protective measures.
- Integrate AT/FP considerations into contingency and operational planning.
- Prepare protective assessments and incident response planning products.
- Ensure AT/FP planning aligns with operational requirements and force protection doctrine.
Supplemental Duties:
- Provide advisory support to MARCENT leadership on AT/FP and personnel recovery policies.
- Assist in developing SOPs for AT/FP and personnel recovery operations.
- Contribute to after-action reviews following incidents or exercises to capture lessons learned.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain compliance with MARCENT administrative procedures and reporting requirements.
- Ensure AT/FP and personnel recovery documentation is archived according to records management standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Education/Experience/Qualification- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 5–7 years of experience in AT/FP, personnel recovery, or related operational planning.
- Expertise in force management, including requirement generation, review, and alignment with operational needs and capabilities.
- Experience drafting deployment information messages and supporting Relief in Place/Transfer of Authority processes.
- Strong knowledge of DoD AT/FP policies and personnel recovery doctrine.
- TS/SCI clearance required.
- Ability to conduct security threat analysis and recommend protective measures.
- Strong planning and integration skills to embed AT/FP considerations into operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and risk assessment tools.
- Collaboration skills to coordinate AT/FP and personnel recovery planning with joint/coalition partners.
Primary workplace is MARCENT Headquarters, Mac Dill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida. Office environment within a joint military/civilian/contractor staff. May include field visits or participation in AT/FP and personnel recovery exercises.
Physical DemandsPrimarily sedentary office work with extensive computer use. May involve participation in exercises or site surveys.
Work ScheduleFull-time, 40 hours per week. Monday–Friday, 0800–1600. May require flexibility for contingency planning and exercises.
License and Other RequirementsValid U.S. Driver’s License. Eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card.

TravelMay include CONUS and OCONUS travel to support AT/FP and personnel recovery planning.
