The Compliance Inspector will conduct regulatory compliance field inspections related to Environmental, Water Use, and Well Construction permitting. Starting Compensation

Compliance Inspector 1 $ 19.50 - $22.18 Compliance Inspector 2 $ 20.78 - $23.63

Essential Functions
  • Conduct routine compliance investigations related to Environmental Resource Permitting, including construction, as-built and re-certification inspections, reviewing approved plans and as-built drawings, site inspections, documenting environmental features, and drafting summary reports.
  • Conduct routine compliance investigations related to Water Use Permitting, observing and documenting on-site activity, verifying permit conditions, installing withdrawal identification tags, and documenting compliance status.
  • Conduct or assist with field and office work related to Well Construction Permitting, observing well grouting and abandonment operations, conducting random well inspections, reporting and investigating well-construction complaints, completing summary reports, and reviewing and issuing well construction permits.
  • Conduct or assist with compliance investigations of water-resource related complaints, reviewing inquiries, conducting site inspections, obtaining data, creating and updating a Water Management Information System (WMIS) compliance file, and submitting recommendations.
  • Section support responsibilities: answering questions from the public, assisting applicants, responding to or routing citizen’s questions, participating in departmental projects, performing duties as assigned, and supporting emergency management functions during major storm events or other declared emergencies.
Working Conditions

Work is divided between the field and office, with most of the work conducted in the field. Extensive travel, generally during the workday, is required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Fieldwork is frequently conducted under adverse weather conditions, remote, undeveloped and/or isolated sites.
