Moffitt’s new 10‑story hospital will expand state‑of‑the‑art surgical services for the thousands of patients needing highly complex surgeries and related inpatient care each year. McKinley Hospital will complement outpatient surgical and diagnostic imaging programs and support inpatient clinical operations on the Magnolia campus, opening space for vital cancer research and alleviating space constraints for patient care.

• Performs screening and interpretation of all cytopathology samples including fine‑needle aspirations, exfoliative non‑gynecologic samples, and gynecologic samples.
• Provides assistance to physicians during the performance of fine‑needle aspirations by making direct smear preparations and performing adequacy interpretation if necessary.

• Has a Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology.
• Has demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of a cytopathology department, including collection, processing, and interpretation of cytopathologic samples.

• Screen and interpret all cytopathologic samples excluding intraoperative touch imprint evaluation cases.
• Provide assistance to clinicians/pathologists with the collection of specimens, predominately FNAs.
• Perform required computer functions relevant to the cytology department, such as accessioning and resulting.
• Perform cytologic‑histologic correlation of all available cytology samples.

• Florida state license in Cytology required.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• 3 years of previous cytology experience preferred.
