Lead Pharmacy Technician, Back End Purchasing/Returns

Do you thrive in a leadership role? Or maybe looking to take the next step in your career? Join our Omnicare, closed‑door pharmacy as a Lead Pharmacy Technician in the Back End department and help us deliver best customer support to our long‑term care, assisted living, and chronic care customers.

Inventory Specialist Responsibilities
  • Help establish true ownership for inventory management activities at store level and provide a clear communication channel for each store.
  • Support all pharmacy ordering activity.
  • Lead the store through resets (e.g., Rx Planogram).
  • Operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication.
  • Contribute to safe and effective operations of the pharmacy, including but not limited to following company SOPs, WeCARE workflow procedures, and establishing ownership of inventory management activities.
  • Monitor outcomes of Inventory Excellence Reporting and communicate completion of inventory activities.
  • Oversee pharmacy ordering and coach the pharmacy team to high standards of day‑to‑day inventory management practices: put away medication deliveries, participate in annual physical inventories, complete cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, fridge organization, waiting bin inventories, etc.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services such as immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and support offsite clinics where allowed by law.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
Day In The Life
  • Lead and assist Pre‑Pack, Picking, Staging, Automated Dispensing, Purchasing, Inventory, Returns/Credits, and Delivery departments toward their primary objectives.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback on pharmacy technician performance.
  • Partner with pharmacy leaders on team training plans and collaborate with field training teams as needed.
  • Assist in orientation, training, and education programs for all controlled substances in accordance with policies, procedures, state, and federal laws.

Required Qualifications
  • Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law.
  • One (1) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the long‑term care industry.
  • Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • PTCB National Certification (not required).
Education
  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $18.50 - $35.29 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
