The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides comprehensive nephrology and kidney transplant care within the inpatient setting. Responsibilities include diagnosing and managing acute and chronic kidney disease, managing kidney transplant recipients, and coordinating care for complex renal conditions. The APP emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, dialysis management, and transplant aftercare. This role offers the opportunity to practice autonomously and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team of physicians, surgeons, APPs, nurses, and other specialists.

- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic kidney disease, electrolyte disturbances, and glomerular diseases.
- Provide post‑transplant care including immunosuppressive medication management, rejection surveillance, infection monitoring, and coordination with nephrologists and transplant surgeons.
- Manage dialysis care – hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and continuous renal replacement therapy in ICU settings.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory testing, and develop evidence‑based management plans.
- Provide care for nephrology patients in the ICU, including dialysis.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in nephrology consult services, including transplant recipients, complex renal cases, and critically ill patients.
- Work autonomously and collaboratively to diagnose and manage clients' healthcare problems.
- Master's degree – Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant issued by Florida or Compact State.
- Acute Care certification, Adult Gerontology Acute Care certification, or Nationally Accredited Physician Assistant Board certification.
- Experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant preferred.
- Extremely motivated new graduates may be considered for an APP fellowship program to support transition to practice.
