Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the Compounding Technician I works in a clean‑room environment, compounding medication at least 50% of the time to ensure safe, accurate, and smooth operations.

• Assist pharmacist with preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures and state regulations.
• Prepare medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
• Accurately label and package medications.
• Participate in the assessment, management, and reporting of medication‑related incidents.
• Ensure pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
• Inspect equipment and document any equipment failures or defects.
• Assist with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.

No supervisory responsibilities.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Must be licensed or registered in the state (if required).

• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards.
• Ability to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Ability to carry at least 30 lbs.

• Successful enrollment and completion of the OCH designated training course within 6 months of hire, if required by state.

Salary range: $19.16 - $31.92 per hour, based on education, experience, skills, and market data.
