AboutThe Job
We are looking for a Compounding Pharmacist (Full Time). Handle calls from prescribers and patients, dispense and verify prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Review prescriptions issued by physician or authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
- Assist front-end operations by effectively handling customer calls and consultations, proper intake of verbal prescription orders, and new Rx/Refill processing.
- Timely and accurately perform final quality checks of prescription orders prior to shipment.
- Oversee and supervise pharmacy technicians engaged in compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Answer questions and provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Enter data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
- Assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
- Instruct personnel and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy.
- Review and file compounding batch records.
- Call physicians to clarify prescriptions when needed.
- Provide oversight and direction to pharmacy technicians and/or other pharmacy personnel.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S., Pharmacy) or Pharm.
D. degree from an accredited college or university. - At least one year of related experience as a compounding pharmacist preferred but not required.
- Schedule:
Monday night – Friday morning. 10 hours daily from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
