Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I) – Tampa, FL

Monday to Friday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM with rotational weekends.

We are seeking a specimen processor/lab assistant to join our team at Quest Diagnostics, a Fortune 500 company leading the world in diagnostic information services. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and a willingness to work night shifts are essential.

Pay range: $17.75+ per hour. Additional shift differential of 10 % for second‑shift hours and 15 % for third‑shift hours (details provided upon offer). Annual performance bonus compensation may be available.

• Data entry of test orders, presort, pickup, and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory;
• Centrifugation and aliquoting;
• Processing specimens for shipment to additional facilities;
• Preparing laboratory specimens for various analyses and testing;
• Identifying problems and, when possible, resolving issues with specimen types (e.g., missing information);
• Understanding the relationship between tests ordered and specimen received.

• HS diploma or equivalent;
• No experience required, though prior production or medical environment experience is preferred;
• Must have flexibility and work primarily during the night shift. Weekend, holiday, on‑call, and overtime may be required based on staffing needs.
