The Health Research and Analytics (HRA) business line is seeking a highly motivated, full‑time Performance Dietitian to join our team in support of our government customer, U.S. Special Operations Command. This position will play a critical role in advancing the Preservation of the Forces and Family (POTFF) program, which is dedicated to optimizing and sustaining the mission readiness, longevity, and performance of Special Operations Forces (SOF).

As a Performance Dietitian, you will contribute to impactful research and analytics that drive evidence‑based decision‑making and enhance the effectiveness of these vital programs. This position provides expert guidance and counseling on nutritional practices to enhance recovery and optimize performance for SOF personnel, prioritizing evidence‑based nutritional planning, counseling, and documentation. This role encompasses both administrative and clinical duties, including designing and implementing performance nutrition programs, developing rehabilitation protocols, maintaining records, and ensuring the availability of educational materials and supplies. This Performance Dietitian will collaborate with the HP program team, advise leadership on nutrition issues, participate in staff training and meetings, and document care in military health records, supporting the overall mission of the POTFF HP program.

• Provide guidance and counseling on nutritional practices to enhance recovery and optimize performance for SOF personnel, with priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel

• Perform administrative and clinical duties within their scope of practice

• Provide and perform the following services in support of POTFF’s HP program for SOF personnel, with priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel:

• Provide nutritional planning, counseling, and documentation guided by evidence‑based peer-reviewed literature

• Advise the chain of command on issues pertinent to nutrition and performance nutrition

• Provide individual and group counseling for guidance on performance nutrition

• Design and implement performance nutrition programs for SOF personnel in garrison, TAD/TDY, and deployed settings

• Develop nutritional protocols and guidelines for rehabilitation and performance

• Collaborate with the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator for implementation of new protocols and guidelines

• Assist other regional SOF assets as required by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and approved by the chain of command

• Attend and participate in meetings with other POTFF staff members and medical personnel as requested and/or required

• Ensure that adequate educational materials and sports nutrition specific supplies are available

• Assist with supply inventories and provide input on supply needs

• Ensure equipment and facilities under the purview of the Performance Dietitian are in safe working condition and are properly utilized

• Ensure records are updated as required

• Participate in periodic in‑service training for members of the HP Staff and attend required training in accordance with guiding instructions

• Perform administrative duties, which may include maintaining records of workload, participating in education programs, and participating in clinical staff quality assurance functions
