Position SummaryThe Clinical Pharmacist at Moffitt Cancer Center is dedicated to adopting comprehensive medication management services that integrate clinical services, order management, and product distribution. The pharmacist oversees the safe and appropriate use of hazardous and non-hazardous medications, ensuring proper storage and end‑product integrity in accordance with institutional policies and standards. The role includes clinical drug monitoring, making therapeutic recommendations to the healthcare team, and providing educational services to patients, family members, healthcare providers, and pharmacy students and residents.
Responsibilities- Perform medication order review, clarification, and verification, assessing for completeness and appropriateness, and oversee accurate drug distribution per policies and procedures. Provide chemotherapy order processing and double checks as necessary.
- Participate in hazardous/non‑hazardous preparation in accordance with most current USP guidelines; utilize the standards of sterile admixture, including appropriate hazardous waste disposal and the high‑risk medication double‑check system. Oversee the admixture and preparation of all hazardous and non‑hazardous drugs.
- Supervise/direct support personnel and verify their daily activities. Assist team members when needed and volunteer for projects/assignments. Seek or offer constructive suggestions and feedback, and communicate with pharmacy leadership to improve systems and services.
- Provide clinical pharmaceutical care to optimize drug therapy for cancer patients through recommendation, monitoring, and modification of individualized pharmacotherapeutic plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
- Completed a PGY‑1 residency or a minimum of 3 years of progressive institutional pharmacy practice experience.
- Previous oncology pharmacy work experience is preferred.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Florida.
