Admissions Recruiter/Advisor, University of South Florida
Reporting to the Director or an appropriate administrator, this professional role involves extensive contact with prospective or newly admitted students. The Admissions Recruiter/Advisor is responsible for maintaining extensive knowledge of university admission requirements, policies, and procedures to interpret and apply them. Incumbents will implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy within a specific territory or population of students, and advise students on enrollment requirements.
Travel is required; the candidate must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities Recruitment- Host regular information sessions both virtual and in‑person
- Attend events such as fairs and networking events for prospects
- Engage with prospects
- Advise/assist on admission criteria and process
- Coordinate with Muma Graduate office and collaborate on above
- Assist prospects with applying
- Maintain regular engagement with prospects and applicants to ensure high yield
- Register when appropriate and assist others involved in registration
- Hold information sessions to onboard students
- Manage and host orientation sessions for new students
- Connect students to mentors
- Assist with professional development and placement activities
- Occasionally advise students on progress in the program(s) and course selection
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent). Work experience may not substitute for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.
- Degree equivalency:
Four years of direct experience can satisfy a bachelor’s degree. - Senate Bill 1310 – The Florida Senate is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S. SB 1310 allows substitution of work experience for postsecondary education requirements up to:
- Two years of direct experience for an associate degree
- Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree
- Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree
- Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree
- Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
- Related work experience may not substitute for licensure, certification, or registration required for the position.
This position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.
