As an Employment Specialist, you will report directly to the Director of Human Resources. Your primary focus will be on employment and recruitment processes across various university departments. You will ensure a streamlined hiring process while maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage recruitment and employment records using Workday, including job postings and applicant tracking.
  • Create and update job descriptions and assist with internal job changes.
  • Provide assistance and information to applicants regarding the hiring process and status updates.
  • Oversee the adjunct faculty hiring process, ensuring timely completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Coordinate background and reference checks for potential hires.
  • Handle the Employment email account, responding promptly to inquiries.
  • Serve as a backup for E-Verify and assist in faculty recruitment efforts.
  • Monitor onboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions for new hires.
  • Collaborate with departments to support foreign national employment and sponsorship processes.
  • Contribute to training sessions on recruitment policies and procedures.
Job Requirements

To succeed as an Employment Specialist, candidates should meet these qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is required.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for educational qualifications on a year-for-year basis.
  • One to two years of office experience, preferably in human resources.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Familiarity with software programs like Workday and Microsoft Office is advantageous.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and HR practices.
