HR Payroll & Benefits Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and the administration of employee benefits programs. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal company policies. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid working knowledge of payroll systems and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration
  • Process payroll for all employees, including wage adjustments, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.
  • Maintain and audit payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams on payroll reporting and reconciliations.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and internal payroll policies.
Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k).
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, status changes, and ongoing inquiries.
  • Manage annual open enrollment and coordinate benefit communication materials.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee benefit records; process provider invoices.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure full compliance with all payroll and benefits-related federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare and file required documentation and reports, such as W-2s, 1095-Cs, and EEO-1s.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and submitting relevant payroll and benefits documentation.
  • Stay informed of changes in laws and regulations related to payroll and benefits, and recommend necessary policy or process updates.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in payroll and/or benefits administration.
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar platforms).
  • Solid understanding of benefits-related regulations, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and FMLA.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
