Payroll Specialist

Payroll Specialist | Hybrid | Tampa, FL

A growing professional services organization is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its payroll team in Tampa, FL. This direct hire opportunity offers a hybrid schedule (onsite Tuesday-Thursday, remote Monday and Friday) and compensation of $26-$30/hour depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have multi-state payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering accurate, compliant payroll processing in a fast-paced environment.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This individual will work closely with HR, Finance, and employees to support payroll operations, resolve issues, and maintain accurate payroll records.

• Process payroll for employees across multiple states
• Maintain and update employee information within HRIS and payroll systems
• Ensure payroll compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Process payroll corrections and adjustments as needed
• Administer wage garnishments, levies, and child support deductions
• Generate payroll reports and assist with audits
• Research and resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies
• Partner with HR and Finance to support payroll operations
• Maintain accurate records and documentation

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3+ years of payroll experience
• Multi-state payroll experience required
• Experience processing high-volume payrolls
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Workday experience preferred
