The Network Management Specialist provides network management, monitoring, and troubleshooting support for MARCENT in support of command, control, and communication missions. This role monitors network systems and performance, troubleshoots and resolves network incidents, ensures compliance with DoD cybersecurity and network standards, and maintains system documentation. With 7–10 years of hands-on network management experience in military or secure environments, the specialist brings expertise in LAN/WAN administration, secure network design, incident response, and threat mitigation.
By applying strong technical knowledge and compliance awareness, the Network Management Specialist ensures resilient, secure, and mission-ready communication networks for MARCENT operations. This employment is contingent upon contract award.
- Monitor network systems and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network outages and incidents.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity and network standards.
- Maintain system documentation to support network operations.
- Administer LAN/WAN environments and support secure network design.
- Configure and maintain network hardware and software.
- Support incident response and threat mitigation activities.
- Develop technical documentation and SOPs for network operations.
- Assist in developing and implementing network monitoring improvements.
- Provide training and support to MARCENT staff on network systems and processes.
- Contribute to after-action reviews and lessons learned for network incidents.
- Maintain compliance with MARCENT administrative procedures and reporting requirements.
- Ensure network management documentation is archived according to records management standards.

Education/Experience/Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree required; IT, Computer Science, or related discipline preferred.
- 7–10 years of experience in network management roles in military or secure settings.
- DoD IAT Certification Level I or above or SEC+ required.
- Additional certifications such as NET+, CISCO, or Voice/Video Network certifications preferred.
- Experience with LAN/WAN administration and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in secure network design and implementation.
- Knowledge of network hardware/software configuration and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Experience in incident response, threat mitigation, and technical documentation development.
- Secret clearance required.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for complex network issues.
- Ability to ensure compliance with cybersecurity and DoD network standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for technical documentation and reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and network monitoring tools.
Primary workplace is MARCENT Headquarters, Mac Dill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida. Office environment within a joint military/civilian/contractor staff. Includes participation in network management activities supporting operational requirements.
Physical DemandsPrimarily sedentary office work with extensive computer use. May involve occasional travel to support network management activities or training.
Work ScheduleFull-time, 40 hours per week. Monday–Friday, 0800–1600. May require flexibility during network outages, upgrades, or operational surges.
License and Other RequirementsValid U.S. Driver’s License. Eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC).

TravelMay include CONUS and OCONUS travel to support MARCENT network management activities.
