Senior Solutions Architect

• Design and document technical solutions that meet business, operational, and security requirements for insurance platforms and applications.
• Serve as the policy and billing architecture lead for key initiatives, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and development teams to define policy and billing architecture patterns and guide solution delivery.
• Manage development teams and provide hands‑on support during solution implementation, including design reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Evaluate and recommend third‑party tools, platforms, and technologies based on solution needs.
• Ensure solutions are compliant with regulatory and security standards relevant to the P&C insurance industry.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of solution architecture frameworks and reusable patterns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 12 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in a solution architecture role and 3 years of people management experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in P&C insurance systems experience.

Qualifications / Skills and

Competencies:

• Proven experience designing solutions using APIs, microservices, cloud technologies (e.g., Azure or AWS), and modern integration patterns.
• Proficiency in implementing insurance management applications using technologies and platforms such as Duck Creek Policy, Billing, and Claims is desired.
• Firm understanding of modern multi‑tenant web applications and microservice and serverless architecture.
• Familiarity with Dev Ops pipelines, CI/CD processes, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Deep understanding of system integration, data modeling, application security, and performance considerations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work across business and technical teams.
• Familiarity with architecture tools (e.g., Archi Mate, Sparx EA) and documentation standards.
• Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible; able to adjust to new requirements or unforeseen issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities across business and technical audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with team members in other departments.
• Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
