Tableau Engineer - Associate Vice President

Join Citi, the world leading global bank, to work on innovative technology solutions that support a range of business partners such as Credit Risk, Retail Risk, Market Risk, Internal Controls, Internal Audit, and Operational Risk. The role is part of the Wholesale Credit Risk team within ICG-IT, focusing on data analytics using Business Intelligence tools including Tableau, Cognos, and Micro Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, analytics dashboards and other BI solutions. Design and develop solutions using Tableau dashboards (Web & Mobile) with Oracle, Sybase or Big Data backend technologies.
  • Integrate data from various sources into Tableau, ensuring optimally performing data models. Conduct data cleansing, blending, and aggregation to prepare datasets for visualization. Monitor and enhance the performance of Tableau dashboards and data sources, ensuring rapid load times and intuitive user experiences.
  • Optimize data extracts and ensure efficient data retrieval and performance on Tableau dashboards. Maintain, test, and schedule refresh of Tableau extracts. Devise processes for trigger‑based automation of Tableau extract refresh for large volumes (TB) of data and create scripts for automating Tableau extract refresh.
  • Assist with prioritization of bugs, feature work, and architectural enhancements. Design Tableau APIs as required, provide technical expertise in architecture, design, and implementation, and troubleshoot issues related to data integrity, visualization accuracy, and dashboard performance.
  • Fine‑tune SQL queries for maximum efficiency and performance. Conduct unit tests and develop database queries to analyze defects and troubleshoot issues.
  • Manage the lifecycle of Tableau analytics dashboards, Tableau Prep Flows including functional requirement gathering, specification, prototyping, development, quality testing, user acceptance testing, roll‑out, and post‑launch enhancements.
  • Manage Tableau Server and administration on Linux servers, including upgrade/installation and end‑to‑end content deployments using automated solutions.
  • Identify key areas of automation to streamline business processes.
Qualifications
  • 5–8+ years of experience in enterprise BI development, preferably from a consulting background. Strong background in designing and implementing enterprise‑scale solutions.
  • Solid hands‑on experience with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep; thorough knowledge of Tableau administration and architecture.
  • Hands‑on experience in relational database development, data mart/data warehouse design, and (if possible) time‑series or No

    SQL databases.
  • Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Mongo

    DB; ability to manage unstructured data; expertise in writing complex SQL, stored procedures, and query tuning. Clear understanding of query plan management.
Nice to Have
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, risk, and regulatory reporting; strong knowledge of credit risk concepts.
  • Hands‑on experience with Tab Py, Tableau Data Management, lineage, and Tableau API tools.
  • Analytics using Big Data, Python or R; strong programming skills in R or Python; experience with API platforms; familiarity with Starburst highly preferred.
Desired Skills / Good To Have
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, risk, and regulatory reporting; strong knowledge of credit risk concepts.
