We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and delivery oversight for complex data engineering initiatives. The SME will play a critical role in defining data strategy, validating architectures, guiding engineering teams, and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality data solutions.

This role requires deep expertise in modern data platforms, cloud data architectures, and enterprise data pipelines, along with strong stakeholder and client‑facing capabilities.

• Serve as the technical authority for data engineering projects, providing architectural direction and best‑practice guidance.
• Define and review end‑to‑end data architecture, including ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers.
• Validate data models, pipeline designs, and cloud infrastructure for scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Guide teams on ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration, and data processing standards.
• Partner with technical project managers, architects, analysts, and engineers to ensure alignment between business requirements and technical solutions.
• Support assessment and discovery phases, providing input on scope, estimates, risks, and solution approaches.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, bottlenecks, and data quality issues across complex data flows.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, governance, and best practices.
• Provide hands‑on support and mentoring to data engineers and technical teams.
• Collaborate closely with client stakeholders, participating in design reviews, technical workshops, and executive briefings.
• Support production readiness, performance tuning, and issue resolution as needed.

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or advanced analytics platforms.
• Proven experience as a technical lead or SME on large‑scale data engineering initiatives.
• Deep expertise in data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data integration patterns.
• Strong experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, Big Query).
• Hands‑on experience with ETL/ELT tools and frameworks (dbt, Airflow, Informatica, Talend, etc.).
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, and performance optimization.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for delivery teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.

• Experience with real‑time or streaming data (Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hubs).
• Exposure to Datapost, CI/CD, and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience in regulated industries or large enterprise environments.
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Prior consulting or client‑facing delivery experience.
