Peraton is seeking an experienced Mid‑Level Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data workflows supporting organizational reporting and cross‑domain data movement. This role involves automating data ingestion pipelines, preparing geospatial and other visualizations using commercial‑off‑the‑shelf (COTS) tools, and configuring customer workflows. Collaboration across divisions and addressing customer requests are vital elements of this position, which supports U.S. Government mission‑critical data operations.

Leading provider of Information Operations (IO) and Irregular Warfare (IW) capabilities to the U.S. government. Integrates Information Related Capabilities (IRC) across multiple domains, environments, and geographic boundaries, supporting both domestic and overseas operations via Information Operations planners, intelligence analysts, cultural advisors, and linguists.
LocationTampa, FL – 50% travel to Europe, Hawaii, Colorado, etc.
Roles and Responsibilities- Centralize and maintain data sources from across the division in SQL databases to support reporting requirements.
- Build and optimize cloud data pipelines for automating data ingestion from vendor sources, preparing data for secure movement across domains.
- Develop geospatial and general data visualizations using COTS tools to support the commander's decision‑making and operational visualization needs.
- Explore and integrate cross‑domain solutions for automating secure data transfers between NIPR and SIPR domains.
- Prepare and document workflows, methodologies, and designs for enhanced collaboration and system maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field and 5 years of relevant experience (additional 4 years of equivalent professional experience considered in lieu of degree).
- Proficiency in Python or Type Script, with familiarity in other modern programming languages.
- Ability to create compelling geospatial and data visualizations using COTS tools.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL workflows, and automation processes.
- Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops practices and cybersecurity standards, particularly in secure data environments.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
- Valid passport required for travel‑related responsibilities.
- Prior experience developing and managing common operating picture dashboards in a U.S. Government or related environment.
- Familiarity with AWS and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Power
BI, or Palantir Foundry. - Understanding of U.S. Government technical and cybersecurity standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across divisions and with stakeholders.
