Position SummaryResponsible for handling day‑to‑day technology operations. Assist Tier 1 technicians on campuses with providing systems support for end users. Completes support tasks for hardware devices and software packages. Help with installation setups and revise existing documentation guidelines. Other main functions include providing training for teams in other departments, answering technology questions as needed, completing administrative tasks when required.
Duties and Responsibilities- Remote and/or in‑person technical support in a multi‑level help‑desk environment.
- Monitors infrastructure and assists workstation technicians to minimize downtime.
- Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade location's networks and in‑house servers.
- Ensure network security and connectivity.
- Remove security threats and malware from company systems.
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
- Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
- Work with team members to develop user training manuals, help sheets, frequently asked questions, and procedures.
- Perform proactive monitoring of organization’s infrastructure.
- Run and terminate CAT 5e/6 cable.
- Manage a high number of devices (laptops, printers, phones, cameras, access points, etc.) for a 1:1 school environment.
Computer science coursework or equivalent work experience (2 years). Certifications desired: CCNA, CCMP, Network+ certification or a plus, Microsoft 365 certifications.
Required Skills & Experience- Troubleshooting of switched wired/wireless networks, routing, DHCP, DNS and TCP/IP.
- Troubleshooting of Operating systems including Microsoft Windows Desktop & Server.
- Troubleshooting of Mobile and tablet operating systems such as Android and iOS.
- Knowledge of Virus/Malware removal processes.
- Ability to properly install, configure, and troubleshoot peripherals such as printers, scanners, webcams and various devices.
- Must be able to troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions quickly.
- Experience administering Microsoft Office 365/Exchange online a plus.
- Experience with next-gen firewall is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to continually learn, be trained, and accept constructive feedback.
- Able to keep organized and efficient while handling multiple tasks or multiple users at the same time.
- Detail and goal oriented. Strong and dedicated work ethic.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Must be able to tolerate outdoor temperatures consistent with Florida climate and must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Must give in‑person, hands‑on help at the desk side level and may be asked to work in an outdoor/above‑ceiling environment.
- Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Must pass required background pre‑employment screening.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Requires a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record.
- Must pass fingerprinting/background check from Hillsborough County Public Schools.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Able to work regular hours with possible weekend work, open availability and flexibility as needed, and some local travel may be required.
- May be responsible for managing multiple student interns.
