Systems Administrator – General Dynamics Information Technology

US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems eXtended (US BICES‑X) is a cutting‑edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats. Working with an internationally dispersed team, you will support command‑center needs and help shape the future of mission‑critical systems.

• Administer VMware virtual environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter appliances, VxRail HCIs, and VSANs.
• Create and maintain detailed system documentation.
• Deliver system/equipment training and technical guidance.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and collaborate with management to evolve processes.
• Deploy security policies and updates in accordance with DISA STIGs and IAVAs to maintain compliance.
• Develop Power Shell, VBScript, and other scripts to automate routine tasks and gather metrics.
• Administer Windows Active Directory environments (Windows Server 2016/2019, Exchange 2016, SharePoint 2013/2016, SQL 2012/2014/2016).
• Design and implement group policy, DNS, Sites and Services, and Active Directory architecture.
• Configure and manage MECM (formerly SCCM) for software deployment and OS maintenance.
• Perform Windows 10/11 OS deployments and update deployments.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
• Maintain a 24/7 position with shift work, including holidays and weekends.

• BA/BS degree and at least 5 years of related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance.
• Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II upon hire.
• Must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation certification within six months of hire.
• US citizenship required.
• Experience with data center operations, server hardware, Windows and Linux operating systems, web servers (IIS, Apache, Tomcat), databases (MS SQL, MySQL, Postgre
  
  SQL).
• Experience with VDI, virtualization (VMware), networking, storage, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Experience in infrastructure design and operations—including load balancing, clustering, firewall rules, fail‑over, monitoring, diagnostics.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work shift schedules, including holidays and weekends.

• VMware VCAP or VCDX certifications.
