Senior Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain BI solutions leveraging Microsoft’s data stack
• Apply industry best practices for dimensional data modeling, especially star schema design
• Integrate and interpret data across multiple platforms including SQL Server and Tabular models
• Develop scalable data workflows using tools within the Azure ecosystem (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, SQL DB)
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into effective data solutions
• Simplify complex information into actionable insights for business leaders
• Strengthen internal data collaboration through strong relationships with cross-functional teams
• Support governance efforts to enhance data architecture and quality
• Monitor industry trends and propose improvements or enhancements to the current data strategy

Qualifications & Competencies

• 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise-level BI or data engineering solutions
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, ELT processes, and data architecture principles
• Familiarity with cloud-first platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or Azure Databricks for big data analytics
• Proficient in T-SQL and capable of designing high-performance queries
• Deep understanding of SDLC processes and working in agile teams
• Comfortable interacting with colleagues across departments and seniority levels
• Able to operate independently while being receptive to leadership direction
• Skilled at distilling and articulating both technical and business aspects of data workflows
• Adept at learning new technologies and applying them effectively
• Exceptional time management, multitasking, and self-motivation
