Data Analyst, Data Engineer
The Data/Information Sr Lead is a strategic professional who closely follows the latest trends in their field and adapts them for application within the organization and the business. Typically, a small number of people within the business provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.
The role is accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business and necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function and is responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team or project.
- This function covers incumbents responsible for various data activities, which include database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality, and database management or database architecture/design engineering.
- Day‑to‑day focus is on the resolution of complex problems or transactions where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes.
- Role at this level usually has full ownership for one or more processes, reports, procedures or products and may also be considered an analytical or procedural expert representing a unit or team on cross‑function process or project deliverables.
- May supervise the day‑to‑day work of junior level employees.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Banking, Financial Services, plus 6‑10 years of managerial experience.
- Deep subject matter expertise around Data Governance and/or Data risk, control framework and policy development.
- Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi‑mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus and influence relationships at all levels.
- Previous experience working with large volumes of data.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of the following data topics:
- Data lineage tracing from endpoint to system of record.
- Data transformation and calculation.
- Key data element identification and rationale.
- Data quality rule requirements.
- Experience working with Wholesale Credit products and data domains such as:
- Party metadata and role linkage.
- Credit facility hierarchy.
- Financial instrument linkage.
- Corporate structure linkage.
- Understanding of relational databases.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, SharePoint/Power Query.
- Project Management Leadership:
- Stakeholder communication.
- Escalation identification.
- Delivery tracking.
- Delivery management:
Need someone who can push partners to deliver task items. Follow‑up/RAG status.
Understanding of data and how it flows:
Understand the difference between a system or record/authorized redistributor/licensed application.Understanding of what defines data as governed.
Ability to identify and solve for roadblocks and when to escalation larger issues before they become an issue.

- Bachelor’s/University degree;
Master’s degree preferred.
