Job DescriptionYou are the person who makes the Military and Family Readiness Center at Mac Dill Air Force Base run on a workshop morning: the room is set, the laptops work, the roster is right, and every service member's record is entered the same day. It is one seat with real ownership, working beside the Center's staff every day. Full time, on site in Tampa, starting October 2026.
Whythis job exists
SPN Solutions has won a new contract to support the Military and Family Readiness Center at Mac Dill Air Force Base in Tampa. The Center runs the Transition Assistance Program, the classes every service member takes before leaving the military for civilian life, along with the other programs that support airmen and their families. The staff who teach and counsel need someone who keeps the technology, the class logistics and the records behind them working, so that their time goes to the people in the room.
That is this job. The data you enter is reported to Congress, the equipment you keep running is what the classes are taught on, and the person who walks up with a laptop problem is usually a few weeks from starting a new life.
- Work that matters to the person in the front of you: service members and families at a turning point
- On base at Mac Dill, Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 4:30, with federal holidays off and no nights or weekends
- One seat with ownership: the laptops, the Wi-Fi, the classroom audio and video, and the records are yours to run well
- A stable role, well suited to someone rooted in the Tampa Bay area
- A natural fit for military spouses and recently separated service members, who already know what the program is for
- A company small enough that the people who run it know your name and answer your messages
- Support every Transition Assistance Program class: check-in, room set-up and break-down, laptop hand-out, facilitator equipment, rosters, no-show lists, and the audio and video for virtual delivery.
- Enter and update program data accurately and on time in the Air Force's family readiness tracking system and in Teams and SharePoint, including scanning and uploading documents.
- Schedule customers for classes, answer program email, check each member's program status, and update out-processing records.
- Keep the Center's commercial laptops working and accounted for: software installs and updates, virus scans, Wi-Fi and printer access, hardware support, inventory and warranty tracking.
- Run the Center's commercial Wi-Fi: accounts, logins, access points, coverage, firmware updates, and mobile hotspots.
- Keep printers, scanners, projectors, monitors and classroom audio and video ready, including toner stock and error fixes.
- Help staff with Microsoft Teams, shared drives, drive mapping and permissions, and raise tickets through Air Force channels for anything outside your access.
- Work the Center's IT support tickets to the agreed timelines and keep the record of what was done.
- Answer phones and requests, draft correspondence, train staff on equipment and software, and keep records to Air Force records-management and Privacy Act rules.
- Recommend equipment and supply needs before they become urgent, and keep the reorder list current.
- Three or more years of experience across administrative support, data entry and hands-on IT support.
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills:
Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Word, to the level of teaching others to use them. - Able to troubleshoot Windows: printer mapping, permissions, network access, file management, drivers and general settings.
- Hands-on experience setting up and running Microsoft Teams for training, meetings and appointments.
- Able to manage a commercial Wi-Fi network: accounts, access points, coverage and firmware.
- Careful, fast and accurate with records that contain personal information.
- Professional customer service with military members, families and staff, in person, by phone and in writing.
- Comfortable with military structure, protocol and chain of command.
- U.S. citizenship, required for a Common Access Card, and the ability to pass a National Agency Check (a background check, not a security clearance).
- If you are a veteran, an honorable discharge.
- Experience in a Military and Family Readiness Center, an…
