Overview

Hmong Chinese Language Document Reviewer – Full Time, Mid-Level

As a CGS Hmong Chinese Document Reviewer you will play a key role in supporting various aspects of the company's litigation portfolio including eDiscovery activities, workflow management, and litigation support. CGS is seeking an experienced Hmong Chinese Reviewer to join a fast paced and extremely active in-house legal team. Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and draft responses for a variety of post-conviction motions
  • Conduct research and draft memorandums on questions of law for direct appeals pending before the court and pretrial motions for criminal cases pending at the Federal Court
  • Examine, prepare, and process a wide variety of technical legal documents; determine the need for assembly and preparation of documents (motions, orders, answers, pleadings, subpoenas, etc.); obtain needed information from case files and sources; submit completed documents for review and approval
  • Prepare legal actions such as indictments, complaints, search warrants, judgments, applications, notices, affidavits, summonses, subpoenas, rules to show cause, proofs of claim, motions for summary judgment, dismissals, and other filings in conformance with rules of style and format
  • Assist client attorneys in preparing trial notebooks, assembling jury instructions, compiling witness and exhibit lists; prepare discovery for plaintiffs and/or defendants; verify citations and statutory references using legal resources to ensure accuracy
  • Compose original letters with a solid working knowledge of legal/administrative procedures and terminology
  • Produce a variety of written documents using a range of office software applications
  • Establish and maintain files for client attorneys; assemble exhibits and records; organize materials for disposition or transfer in accordance with procedures
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience on litigation support projects; strong communication skills with clients and attorneys
  • Solid working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
  • Hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases (including document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging applications
  • Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures
  • Juris Doctor (Law Degree) or equivalent
