A well-established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant to support a high-volume defense practice
. This is a full-time, in-office position supporting three attorneys (two Partners and one Associate).
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, highly organized legal assistant with substantial defense-side Workers’ Compensation experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage competing priorities with precision and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive legal support to multiple attorneys in a high-volume Workers’ Compensation defense practice
- Manage heavy calendaring, deadlines, and docket control
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, and routine filings
- Handle ECF, DOAH, and PACER filings
- Coordinate with insurance carriers, record retrieval vendors, and third-party portals
- Maintain case files, manage discovery, and ensure compliance with carrier guidelines
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and vendors
- Minimum 3 consecutive years as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm
- Minimum 2 consecutive years of Workers’ Compensation defense experience (required)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritize competing demands
- Proficiency in civil litigation procedures, including deadline management and docketing
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience with DOAH, ECF filings, and PACER
- Familiarity with insurance carrier guidelines and vendor portals
- Experience with Litify and/or Salesforce is a plus
