IT Project Manager
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer‑oriented Deputy Project Manager to join our team in the Tampa, FL commuting area. This unique opportunity supports the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) in implementing and deploying an One Stream software solution while maintaining its legacy Hyperion solution until changeover. This is a hybrid position that is expected to be on‑site at the customer location in Tampa, Florida three (3) days per week and two (2) days remote. Candidates should be local to the Tampa area.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with clients and project stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure alignment with overall program goals.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Monitor project progress and take corrective action as needed to maintain alignment with objectives.
- Oversee project deliverables and ensure quality meets client expectations.
- Communicate project status updates to stakeholders effectively.
- Plan, staff, budget, and direct one or more projects to ensure the timely delivery of contractual commitments to customers.
- Obtain customer validation of outcomes achieved and ROI delivered.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, information technology, or a related field coupled with 8+ years of software and/or finance experience.
- 10+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably within the IT or government contracting sector.
- Experience with PPBE, POM, RAP, acquisition program management to a Level I/II/III/ACAT program of record, or related experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field.
- Consulting experience with federal departments, agencies, and organizations.
- Information systems project management experience.
- General knowledge of federal financial management processes and requirements.
- Experience consulting or delivering solutions to federal clients.
- Experience in the Department of Defense’s PPBE process.
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co‑workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
