Description

The Senior Manager of PMO is a key resource within the PMO office, working closely with the IT and Business functions on prioritizing projects and outcomes, monitoring and reporting on project and portfolio health and driving best practice project execution. This role is responsible for managing a team of Business Analysts and IT portfolio management. The ideal candidate will drive strategic project initiation and execution, enhance operational efficiencies and report on status of business relevant outcomes.

The role reports to the Director of the PMO.

Essential Functions
  • Implement and enforce standardized methodologies, templates, and tools across IT
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure timely delivery
  • Manage the IT portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and business strategies.
  • Balance resource allocation to optimize the delivery of prioritized projects.
  • Develop and present reports on portfolio performance, project status, and resource utilization to the IT Leadership Team.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Business Analysts, ensuring professional growth and high performance.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline project management and testing processes. Provide oversight on test case management, defect tracking, and metrics reporting to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture and promote best practices in business analysis and project management.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to establish and operate within the defined project prioritization framework.
  • Oversee implementing and maintaining automated testing tools and frameworks, ensuring scalability and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Establish robust governance for testing, including creating and managing standardized test templates, comprehensive testing libraries for all SAP modules, and documentation to ensure consistent application across projects.
  • Align with the internal controls for governance around testing
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, ensuring clear project goals and progress communication.
Leadership Responsibilities & Competencies
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
  • Supervision may be provided through a team of subordinate supervisors and / or managers.
  • Provides training, direction and instruction and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Provides guidance and training on work standards and expected outcomes.
  • Accountable for planning and evaluating performance, staff training and development, recruitment and may contribute to pay recommendations.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, business analysis, or portfolio management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in PMO operations, managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of testing automation tools and methodologies.
  • Proficient in portfolio management tools and techniques.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field.
  • PMP qualification preferred
  • Experience in implementing enterprise-level testing automation solutions.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands– Continuously sitting for prolonged periods, as the job is administrative in nature.
  • Visual / Sensory – This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time.
  • Work environment – Work and environment fasted paced, requiring ability to remain focused under pressure.
  • Mental Stress – There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, project management, accuracy or similar demands.
Travel Requirements
  • Annual travel expectations are approximately 10%-15%.
