To manage the schedule, scope, and budget of assigned Capital & Expense Construction Projects. Coordinate and direct General Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Municipalities, and authorities having jurisdiction, from project permitting to completion.
Responsibilities- Review Plans:
Interpret architectural and engineered drawings for accuracy and conformance to standards. Document and recommend corrections as needed. - Expedite Permits:
Research and investigate current requirements to secure all necessary building, trade, and construction permits for each project. Coordinate or initiate the application process and track release of all permits until received. - Utility Coordination:
Identify all utility requirements, including locations, permits, easements, and required construction methods. Coordinate all paperwork and methods to complete installation of each utility. - Project Management:
Ensure compliance with construction schedules; quality of work performed in conformance with the plans; maintain control of costs within authorized budgets. - Supervise, review, and accept all work performed by the GCs including change orders as a job progresses. Assist the Construction Purchasing Manager in preparing the “Take‑Off” or “Equipment” list and ordering the correct equipment needed for a project.
Field Leaders, Construction Department team, General Contractors, Subcontractors, Equipment Vendors, Local/State agencies, Regulatory Officials, and other EG America SSC personnel in multiple departments.
RequirementsMinimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree;
Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
Bachelor’s Degree Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Minimum Experience5 years Construction Management
Preferred Experience7 years Retail and/or Petroleum Construction Management
Licenses/CertificationsProfessional Engineer, PPM or other Professional Project Management Designation, Construction Supervisor, Trade Licenses
Soft Skills- Comfortable talking and interacting with others
- Strong communication skills
- Detail and process oriented
Travel up to 50%; must have a clean driving record.
Hours & ConditionsTypically Monday – Friday for 8 hours/day during normal business hours with occasional weekend work to attend events or address critical issues.
Physical RequirementsAbility to maneuver and regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand/walk 8 hours a day; reach overhead, bend, squat, twist; reach, grasp, and grip; work in cooler (cold temperatures). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
