Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for a Maintenance Manager based out of Tampa, FL. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will manage the maintenance department, staff and the operations for the entire facility.
What you'll do
- Provide supervision and leadership to plant maintenance employees.
- Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and coordinate or initiate reordering when necessary.
- Ensure operating/training manuals are up to date and used for training employees.
- Enter maintenance related data into systems as needed/appropriate.
- Oversee maintenance functions with a drive to eliminate repetitive issues by developing personnel and using metrics to help make decisions.
- Minimize breakdowns or disruptions in the production processes by developing a preventative maintenance and inspection list and schedule.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing activities and promote the plant Lean culture.
- Coordinate and/or perform inspection of building and equipment as required by regulatory agencies.
- Be a leader in safety, and enforce company policy in regard to EH&S and Lean Initiatives
- Create and adhere to departmental budgets.
- Lead maintenance transformation from a "break/fix" culture to a reliability-based maintenance culture
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring:
- Associates or technical degree and 10 years of maintenance related experience and/or training in the field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred. - Experience in tubing/pipe environment or similar heavy manufacturing environment, along with supervisory experience preferred.
- Must have strong Mechanical and Electrical skillsets.
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to use CAD as well as Microsoft office suite such as excel, word, power point.
- General PLC programming knowledge.
- Understanding of basic machine shop tools as well as welding and metal fabrication.
- Familiar with electric code requirements.
- Experience with installation of machinery and equipment as well as dis-assembly.
- Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
- Effective leadership skills and problem-solving techniques. Great interpersonal skills with a strong ability to communicate both positive and negative messages.
- Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.
Within 3 months, you'll:
- Complete any required training.
- Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
- Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
Within 6-months, you'll:
- Update training materials and procedures.
- Partner with Safety and HR to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents, injuries, production issues, and HR issues.
- Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.
Within 12-months, you'll:
- Be managing an efficient team that delivers Atkore's strategy.
- Create and update reports, training materials and documentation.
- Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports.
- Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely.
