Position: Core Finisher (1st Shift)

Core Finisher (1st Shift)

Location: Tampa, FL

Payrate: $18.00/hr

Duration: 6 Months

Shift: Mon to Fri - 5AM to 1PM (40 hours weekly) with overtime on weekends

Job Description
  • Carefully file, smooth, and shape ceramic cores using hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Inspect cores for cracks, chips, or dimensional defects, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Perform minor repairs (patch) or touch-ups to maintain product integrity.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety protocols.
  • Document work performed and report any quality issues to supervisors and team leads.
Responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read, interpret and adhere to technical drawings and procedural documentation.
  • Experience with fine hand‑finishing or similar precision work preferred.
  • Commitment to quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate machinery and tooling.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Open‑minded, willing to learn.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must comply with internal Safety and 6S Standards.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Complete understanding of Core Finishing processes (Level I, II and III).
Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent life experience and 3–6 months related experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work instructions, and procedure manuals; record information daily.
  • Proficiency in English: reading, writing, listening, speaking.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of two‑ and three‑digit numbers.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Regular standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; use hands to manipulate tools.
  • Regularly lift, push, pull or move up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Close vision, color discrimination, depth perception, and focus adjustment needed for defect recognition.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts; moderate noise level; occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
