Production Manager
Area Leader - 2nd Shift (Production)
Schedule:
2:00 PM - 10:30 PM EST, with overtime as required.
- Facilitates Team Start of Shift meeting and End of Shift review meeting for assigned areas and participates in other site communication meetings as necessary.
- Collaborates with other areas/teams to resolve issues.
- Ensures the area/team achieves all goals and objectives.
- Creates and provides training for associates as needed.
- Completes all required documentation or reporting as needed.
- Provides input to the supervisor on daily staffing, rotation, and scheduling decisions including coverage for breaks, lunches, etc.
- First line of escalation for any problems/issues.
- Completes safety observations and follows up to ensure safety related issues are resolved.
- Identifies and implements, by coordinating with other functional areas, continuous improvement activities that drive:
- KPI's back to standard or better than standard;
- Improved tooling/equipment performance; and
- Improved work place organization and overall process flow improvements.
- Maintains and audits adherence to standard work among team members.
- Promotes and maintains a positive team atmosphere by coaching, recognizing and providing constructive feedback to the team.
- Provides input to Area Manager on associate performance and development.
- Fills in for absenteeism, PTO, or other shortages; provides relief when operators need to be away from their work area.
- Provides feedback on associate performance in assigned area and makes recommendations on employment activities including hiring, training, work assignments, transfer, promotion, discipline and termination.
- Other duties as assigned by the Area Manager or Plant Manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of experience in an industrial environment.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office or equivalent.

- Operate assigned equipment in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
- Strong communication skills.
- Five (5) years of experience in an industrial environment.
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Additional- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand 10 hours per day, in addition to walking, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
- Be able to mount, dismount and operate powered industrial equipment.
- Must be able to work in both hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions.
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days, as needed, which includes weekdays and weekends.
