Metropolitan Ministries, a grassroots nonprofit serving families in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, and Hernando counties, has been providing life‑changing solutions for those who are homeless and at risk of becoming homeless in Tampa Bay since 1972.
We are seeking a Community Donations Coordinator to lead our donor pipeline and enhance customer service for new and existing donation drives.

Job FunctionsThe Community Donations Coordinator will manage the pipeline of donors, provide exceptional customer service to donation drives, support cultivation and stewardship strategies, coordinate logistics, and collaborate with volunteer teams to ensure successful collection events.
Essential Responsibilities- Support donor customer service for drives and in‑kind strategies, handling inquiries, sign‑ups, confirmations, wrap‑up support, and stewardship.
- Coordinate donor drive efforts, updating dispatch calendars and coordinating with Logistics for pickup and container placement.
- Monitor collection schedules, maintain accurate records in Raiser’s Edge and other tracking tools, and submit receipts for data entry.
- Engage volunteers and lead volunteer leaders at drive events, including holiday and targeted drives.
- Demonstrate a passion for the mission, uphold ethical standards, and protect donor information.
- Stay current on nonprofit fundraising best practices and participate in cross‑functional meetings.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred: formal Customer Service training or relevant experience. Minimum 1 year of nonprofit development experience desired.
Skills Requirements
- Excellent written and oral communication; phone presence.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM tools such as Raiser’s Edge.
- Customer‑service mindset and ability to work with diverse, low‑income populations.
- Computer and office equipment literate.
Ability to stand and sit for long periods, walk and climb stairs, lift up to 20 lbs., and work outdoors in varying weather.
