TOP Jewish Foundation: A Regional Platform for Jewish Philanthropy

Founded in 1980, TOP Jewish Foundation is a regional Jewish community foundation dedicated to strengthening Jewish life and helping individuals, families and organizations translate their values into meaningful and enduring philanthropy. TOP serves as the planned giving arm for its founding Jewish Federations in Tampa, Orlando and Pinellas as well as the Jewish Federations in Naples, Lee/Charlotte Counties, Volusia/Flagler Counties, Brevard County and Gainesville.

TOP combines the personal service and flexibility of a family foundation with the professional infrastructure, investment oversight and charitable expertise of an established community foundation. The Foundation works with donors across generations, as well as synagogues, Jewish agencies, schools and other nonprofit organizations, to establish and steward donor-advised funds, endowments, legacy gifts, managed funds and more complex charitable gifts.

Today, TOP oversees more than 700 charitable funds representing approximately $138 million in assets under management. Since its founding, the Foundation has facilitated more than $200 million in distributions to Jewish and broader community organizations. These figures reflect not simply investment assets, but hundreds of individual philanthropic relationships and institutional partnerships that TOP stewards over decades.

TOP’s value proposition extends well beyond investment administration. Its role is to serve as a trusted philanthropic partner—helping donors clarify their charitable objectives, structure tax efficient gifts, engage succeeding generations and create lasting legacies. For nonprofit partners, TOP provides access to professional investment management, fiduciary oversight, and endowment expertise that many organizations could not efficiently replicate on their own.

The Director of Philanthropy is a senior leadership position responsible for cultivating philanthropic relationships, expanding charitable investments, and advancing TOP's mission through strategic gift planning and donor engagement.
