Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN or LVN) – Naph Care, Inc.
Join Naph Care’s team of medical professionals in Tampa, FL. We manage all aspects of healthcare for inmates at the Hillsborough County Jail. As a Correctional Nurse
, you will provide care in a controlled environment, performing assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Perform patient assessments and interview patients about current health problems and medication history.
- Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Provide wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas.
- Administer medications, including injections, and monitor reactions.
- Maintain medical records, including entry into our electronic health record, Tech Care.
- Observe patient health and mental status.
- Provide emergency first aid.
- Provide patient education and discharge/release planning.
Education / Licenses / Certifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Actively state‑certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Possess and maintain BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; AHA or American Red Cross preferred.
- Pass facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
Experience / Skills
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary or confidential information.
- Display integrity, professionalism, and adhere to a Code of Conduct and all correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR while maintaining good balance and endurance.
