The OBGYN Triage Nurse (LPN) delivers professional clinical care for patients, providing extensive OBGYN triage via telephone and supporting physician care during examinations, procedures, and testing.
Responsibilities- Perform extensive triage of OB/GYN patients via phone and call patients with test results.
- Conduct fetal non‑stress test (NST).
- Prepare patients for examination and assist physicians during treatment, procedures, examinations, and testing.
- Record patients’ medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
- Measure, record, and document vital signs.
- Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other specimen collection as per established policies and provider direction.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a provider.
- Authorize drug refills as directed.
- Educate patients by providing information and instructions and answering questions.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures.
- Represent the office professionally and treat all customers, internal and external, with courtesy and cooperation.
- Participate in team activities and professional development activities.
- Demonstrate and embody the Women’s Care mission and core values.
- Comply with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Ability to obtain and maintain BLS/CPR certification.
- Strong bedside manner and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a stressful, deadline‑driven environment.
- Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers, and patients courteously and effectively.
- Skill in using a computer and entering data into an electronic medical record system; eCW is a plus.
