ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for clinic patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care. Clinical management is conducted in collaboration with other health care team members. The scope of practice is established by a protocol with a licensed medical doctor.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for clinic patients.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs.
- Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
- Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role.
- Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
- Facilitates staff, patient, and family decision making by providing educational tools and patient engagement.

Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Current Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) licensure.
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification in Family Medicine, preferred.
- Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
General office working conditions. The employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands for manual tasks, and may occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception. The employee may be required to travel locally or occasionally out-of-area, including overnight stays. Manual dexterity on a desktop computer and exposure to variable weather conditions are expected.
